“The nation’s first art gallery dedicated to cremation urns and personal memorial art.” The New York Times, 1/18/07

“The objects at Art Honors Life aren’t merely exquisite, they are unique vessels for something even more valuable.” KQED Radio’s The California Report, 2/2/07

A GALLERY OF ORIGINAL CONTEMPORARY URNS, VESSELS & PERSONAL MEMORIAL ART

{BEE} HERE NOW is the inaugural exhibition of a pioneering art gallery that is redefining the purpose and aesthetics of personal memorial art. More than 80 original, museum-quality vessels by 33 artists from throughout the US and abroad are currently featured in an on-going display that fills our Northern California Wine Country gallery with an extraordinary array of styles—from quietly and elegantly contemplative to bold and vibrant examples of superb craft in every media. Among them are large vessels for companions to share, and petite reliquaries for keeping small portions of ashes or treasured mementoes. Each is rich with unique character and is intended to reflect and honor those we love. All artwork is available for sale. We’re also happy to discuss specially commissioned and personalized work, including installations and public memorials.

COMING IN 2008

SCATTEREDEphemeral art projects by two leading-edge artists whose work is commanding international attention and respect. Featured will be objects from British product designer Nadine Jarvis’s Post Mortem Research project that earned her London’s Design Museum Emerging Artist award in 2006, and Patrick Marold, who will construct and install unfired clay boxes—building on the concept of a vessel that was first introduced in FUNERIA’s 2003 Ashes to Art exhibition in San Francisco. Patrick’s hand formed biodegradable clay vessels are also currently available to order through FUNERIA.
